Not how to use software. How to make music and play it live.
Olstad Sound System — the first Italian tekno sound system
About OBY ONE
OBY ONE (also known as OB1) is a pioneering tekno musician and the visionary force behind Outlaw and Olstad Sound — the first Italian tekno sound system, founded in 1996. He has been a central figure in the Italian and European underground tekno scene for nearly three decades.
A trained sound engineer from the Nuova Accademia di Musica Moderna (NAM) in Milan, with pre-conservatory studies, OBY ONE combines deep technical knowledge with raw underground experience. He has released vinyl productions on respected labels including Okupe, Tikal Sound, Olstad Sound, and others.
Today, through Nexsonus — his project uniting label, academy, studio, and community — he passes on his knowledge to the next generation of tekno producers and live performers.
"I don't teach software. I teach music."
The DAW is just a tool. What matters is understanding rhythm, sound design, arrangement, and how to move a dancefloor. Whether you use Reaper, Ableton, FL Studio, or Logic — the principles are the same. I work primarily in Reaper, but I adapt to whatever you use.
